Reminder: Westlake Snow Parking Allowed Throughout City
The city is one of the few in the Cleveland area that does not have a snow parking ban.

WESTLAKE, OH - Being a Cleveland suburbs means regularly being the victim of a brutal snowfall. With forecasts calling for freezing temperatures and more snow throughout the week, it's important to know what your city's parking ban is for winter days.
In the city of Westlake, residents are asked to not park their vehicles on any streets or cul-de-sacs during any snow events. However, there is no official parking ban. That means, in a pinch, your car should be fine on whatever street you've parked it on.
Residents are also asked to shovel snow and ice off of sidewalks, partly for the benefit of school children that may have to wait for the bus. A city ordinance asks that you clear those sidewalks within 12 hours of a snow storm. However, you're not allowed to push that snow or ice into the street. Doing so would violate a city ordinance and open you up to a fine or citation.

Finally, residents are asked to clear out snow and ice that accumulates in front of their mailbox. Why? To aid the postman who will be delivering your mail regardless of rain, snow, sleet, or shine. Besides, it's common courtesty to help that guy out.
