The Rubber Duck Race Returns to Westlake
It all goes down at the Westlake Recreation Center Pond on August 7.

WESTLAKE, OHIO — Preparations have begun for the August 7 rubber duck race in Westlake.
"I've been to duck races all over the country," Lisa Stanton, president of the Westlake Historical Society, told Patch. "We have done the duck race in the past and because 2016 was going to be a fun year, we were going to bring it back."

For newbies, a duck race involves a number of adopted rubber ducks being dropped down a body of water (in this case, the pond at the recreation center) and the owner of the first duck to cross the finish line wins a cash prize.
Captain Turner of the Westlake Police will be officiating the event.
