WESTLAKE -- National Junior Honor Society students at St. Paul Westlake organized a Friday "Dress Down Day" on September 6.
The students wanted to do something to help the many victims of Hurricane Dorian, so in less than 24 hours, they raised $631 by soliciting donations from those who participated by "Dressing Down" for the day.
They asked that each participating student contribute at least $3 to the effort.

"Our school is caring. We do what we can to help others in need," said St. Paul Westlake Eighth Grader Kellie Kashubeck. "We try to follow God and do what he would do."
Kashubeck said her family believes it is important to help others, and said they discussed not only the hurricane, but the students' efforts at home. Further encouraging the students' efforts, her parents opened their wallets and contributed some extra cash to the effort.
