Westlake Academic Challenge Team Wins Tournament
The squad went 6-1 during an Ohio Academic Challenge tournament at Shaker Heights High on October 19.
WESTLAKE, OH — The Westlake High Academic Challenge team knocked out the competition at the Ohio Academic Challenge Tournament on October 19. The team traveled east to Shaker Heights High for the tournament.
The Westlake team finished the day with a 6-1 record, beating Beaumont School in the championship round to claim the title. The other teams competing in the tournament were Black River, Fairport Harbor, Riverside, Shaker Heights, Western Reserve and Wickliffe.
The Westlake squad is composed of team members Kevin Xu, Logan Evans, Richard Garber, Rhett Bilski, Matt Taylor and Zahraa Abdulameer. The team is advised by John and Sandy Packis.
