Westlake High Football Coach Steps Down

Jason Hall's best season was in 2016-2017 when his Demons went 7-3 and enjoyed a strong playoff run. The team went 1-9 this year.

WESTLAKE, OH — After a dismal 2018-2019 season, Westlake High's head football coach Jason Hall has stepped down. The school district will begin a search for his replacement immediately.

“After spending the last 20-plus years of my life involved in football as either an athlete or a coach, I feel I owe it to my family to be able have a more flexible schedule that enables me to watch them do what they love,” Hall said in a statement. “We have made our home in Westlake and love the area and the school. I just feel that at this time in my life, this is a decision I need to make for my family. I still intend to be active with our coaches and athletes, helping our athletic department in any way I can.”

Hall has two kids in the Westlake Schools. His daughter Emma is a sophomore at the high school where she plays basketball; his other daughter, Julia, plays volleyball and basketball while working through sixth grade.

“I would like to thank Coach Hall for his dedication to the Westlake football program,” Cipollone said. “He has helped to build a solid foundation on which the football program can continue to grow. I look forward to working with him in his new role as we continue to develop our overall athletic program.”
