Westlake High Senior Signs With Junior Hockey Team
Graduating Westlake High senior Spencer Schons has signed with junior hockey league team the Northern Cyclones.
WESTLAKE, OH — Graduating Westlake High senior Spencer Schons has signed with junior hockey league team the Northern Cyclones.
“I am extremely excited to be joining the Cyclones organization,” Schons, a defenseman, said after signing. “Thank you for this opportunity. I can’t wait to get to work!”
Schons spent the past six seasons with the Cleveland Barons organization, at the Bantam and Midget levels. He played for the Barons U18 team the past two seasons. Last year, in 15 games, he had 14 points (5 goals, 9 assists). In 45 Midget games, he finished with 29 points (12 goals, 17 assists). Both were career-highs for a single season.

The Cyclones are located in Hudson, New Hampshire. They play their home games at Cyclones Arena.
The Cyclones NCDC team, which Schons will play for, finished the 2019-2020 season with a 28-16-6 record, 6th overall in the standings. The postseason was cancelled due to the new coronavirus outbreak.
