Westlake Mayor Cites Development, Infrastructure in State of The City

Crocker Park improvements cited as point of pride in 31st annual address.

Westlake Mayor Dennis Clough gave his 31st annual state of the city address during a West Shore Chamber of Commerce luncheon. The speech, given at the Doubletree Westlake, accentuated growth and development in the city, according to a presentation the city sent Patch.

Clough was particularly proud of the continued development at Crocker Park. “"We can now say we have a world-class town center at Crocker Park," he said. The mayor also praised the city council’s role in their effots, which he said “works together with the administration to make things happen.”

The mayor looked to infrastructure for improvements, which include replacements of traffic signals, the resurfacing of Detroit Road and Brantley Road, intersection improvements on Canterbury and Detroit Road, and a new EMS system. "If we don't maintain our infrastructure, we're not going to maintain the desirability of our community," Clough said.

"It's great to be the mayor of Westlake," Clough said. "We're a very vibrant community, we're a growing community and we have a great quality of life."
