WESTLAKE, OH — Westlake has postponed its annual July 4th fireworks and parade.

Although Westlake's fireworks and parade have been canceled, residents are being encouraged to celebrate the holiday by displaying American flags on their property. Residents should also decorate their lawns using red, white and blue colors, if possible.

Residents cannot set off their own fireworks. Westlake has ordinances prohibiting private firework displays. However, novelty items like sparklers are permitted.
