More than 2,500 workers chipped in through bake sales, garage sales, and other efforts, with many donors personally connected to services like after-school care and housing assistance during medical crises.

Thunder team up with Our Blood Institute (news9.com) — Oklahoma City Thunder fans can roll up their sleeves right after Christmas, with a special Our Blood Institute drive kicking off December 27 where 100 donors will meet Thunder player Jwill. Everyone who donates at that event gets an exclusive Thunder T-shirt and a free game ticket, and additional Thunder-themed drives will run statewide through January 2.

Oklahoma City man sentenced to 10 years for racially motivated attack on black resident (okcfox.com) — A 28-year-old Oklahoma City resident has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for a racially motivated attack on a Black man who was cleaning a parking lot in August 2023. Federal prosecutors and the FBI’s Oklahoma City office emphasized that hate-driven violence will be aggressively prosecuted and said they hope the sentence offers some measure of justice to the victim.

Teen tried as adult found guilty of double murder, jury recommends life without parole (okcfox.com) — In an Oklahoma City case closely watched by local courts, a jury found 20-year-old Gustavo Peralta guilty of two counts of first-degree murder for shootings that killed Ramon and Angelo Sosa in 2021, when Peralta was 16. Tried as an adult, he now faces life in prison without parole after jurors heard additional evidence in a second sentencing phase.
