4 Adoptable Cats from Washington County's Bonnie L. Hays Small Animal Shelter

Take a look to see if one of these adorable fur balls would be a good fit for your home.

HILLSBORO, OR — The Bonnie L. Hays Small Animal Shelter cared for 4,000 stray, abandoned or neglected animals in 2015. They're doing even more great work this year. Here are four cats currently up for adoption and looking for a home.

This beautiful indoor-only kitty is named Scratch, but don't let the name follow you: Scratch has been declawed. Scratch is 10 years old, 16 pounds and looking for a quiet home. All children in the home must be 12 years or older.

Say hi to Tiffany "AKA Pretty Blue Eyes." Tiffany is a "timid and sweet cat with pretty lynx point markings." She's spayed and up to date on vaccinations. She prefers a home with no young children.

Snuggles loves to cuddle up and sit in your lap, but he can also be a little nervous and timid. Once he trusts you, though, he's very affectionate. Snuggles weights 16 pounds and prefers children 12 and up. He likes a quiet home and rolls solo: no other cats in the home, thank you very much.

Peter Cotton AKA "Affectionate Boy" is an 8-year-old, 10-pound sweetheart. The only thing he loves more than rolling around and looking silly is giving a good head butt. He loves attention and really just wants someone to appreciate him. If you're thinking of adopting Peter Cotton, make sure your children are 6 and up.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when looking for a dog or cat to adopt from the Bonnie L. Hays Animal Shelter:

  • If you have kids, remember that not all dogs and children are a perfect match, so make sure that the dog you select is family friendly.
  • If you have one or more existing dogs in your home, the shelter requires a "meet and greet" between your dogs and the adoptive dog at the shelter.
  • The shelter cannot hold pets, so when you are ready to select a pet, please come prepared.
