  1. Reporter Korh Harlan shares his visit to Beaverton’s ADAPT Training to get tips on prepping for running season. With Hood to Coast looming at the end of the month, ADAPT is seeing lots of folks with running form issues. The rehab and training specialists offered some simple ways to help get knees working optimally. (KOIN)
  2. Beaverton School District is pushing to find staff ahead of the upcoming 'normal' school year. The district is down by about 40 bus drivers, 30 substitute teachers and cafeteria workers. They're holding hiring events for bus drivers every Wednesday through July at Capital Center located on the corner of 185th and Walker Road in Beaverton. (KATU)
  3. Police give a shout-out to the Good Samaritans who rescued a victim from a sexual assault suspect at a Beaverton MAX platform. Officers arrested the suspect, William Wesley Gilchrist, following a short pursuit near Southwest Murray Boulevard and Southwest Jenkins Road. A grand jury indicted Gilchrist on July 2. (KPTV)
  4. Convicted extortioner Michael Avenatti faced sentencing for illegal demands he made to Nike on Thursday. He threatened to cause billions of dollars of damage to the apparel company's reputation back in 2017 unless they paid-up. Prosecutors have requested up to an eight-year prison term. (KXAN)
  5. Liz Hutchinson reports on the return of the Shakespeare Festival later this month. The Beaverton Main Library will host the outdoor, family-friendly three-day event July 16 through 18. Look forward to kids' tent with Shakespeare-related activities, wine or mead for the over-21 crowd at The Elephant Inn and Elizabethan meat pies from Mrs. Lovatts's Pie Stand, along with lots of performances.
