Aloha Driver Uninjured After Car He Was Driving Is Hit By Train

A 20-year-old man was ticketed for driving under the influence after the BWM he was driving was hit by a train after he drove onto the track

BEAVERTON, OR – Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene not sure exactly what to expect. Dispatch had received multiple calls about a car being struck by a train and pushed down the tracks.

It happened Friday morning by Southwest 173rd Avenue and Shaw Street in Aloha.

They found a silver 2002 BMW. It had been hit by a Portland & Western train with 33 cars and two engines and pushed 15 feet down the tracks.

The driver, who had driven through an intersection and got stuck on the tracks, had managed to get out of the car and was not injured.

Deputies believe that man likely had a combination of drugs and alcohol in his system at the time.

The man, a 20-year-old from Aloha, was ticked for driving under the influence of intoxicants.
