Beaverton detectives investigated Gilbreath and the allegations but couldn't develop enough evidence to make a case.

In 2018, another young child being cared for by Gilbreath made similar allegations.

This time, Beaverton detectives were able to gather enough evidence to make the case. The Washington County District Attorney singled out Detective Cynthia Herring for her work.
