Beaverton Company Celebrates 20 Years

Elite Plastics has grown from being housed in a barn and two horse stalls to a 60,000 square foot facility.

Mayor Denny Doyle says that Elite Plastics is a Beaverton success story.

The company recently celebrated their 20th anniversary.

Elite, which makes comprehensive injection and compression molded products, sub-assemblies, highly decorated parts and plastic machining, started out in a barn and two horse stalls.

That was followed by a brief expansion with an Army tent and finally a 60,000 square foot facility that they still call home.

"The city is proud that Elite Plastics has called Beaverton home for 20 years," Doyle. "It is an honor to have a company of this caliber performing advanced manufacturing right here in our city with such an impressive product portfolio."

The president of Elite Plastics, Dan Thurmond, says he's proud to be a US company whose parts can be found in everything from cars to planes, to hospitals to everyday appliances.

"Beaverton has been a great city for us to conduct our business and we plan to do so for at least another 20 years," Thurmond says.
