Beaverton Hires General Manager To Lead Arts Center

Chris Ayzoukian comes to Beaverton from Los Angeles where he was a vice president for the LA Philharmonic.

As Beaverton moves forward on plans to create a center for the arts that stands out in the region, it now someone with a first-class pedigree to lead the efforts. The city announced Monday it has hired Chris Ayzoukian away from the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Ayzoukian has been serving as the vice president, philharmonic and production at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and Hollywood Bowl. He oversaw operations and productions.

As General Manager for the Beaverton Arts Center, he will establish and implement operating and management systems. He will also help coordinate design and construction of the facility.

"This is an exciting time in Beaverton and I am thrilled at the opportunity to help bring the Beaverton Center for the Arts to fruition," said Ayzoukian.

"I have been inspired by the strong sense of community in Beaverton and the level of engagement and enthusiasm by its residents in envisioning the city's bright future. Working with Mayor Doyle, city staff, and all stakeholders, my goal is to build upon the excellent work already undertaken to create a premier cultural and arts destination in Beaverton."

The city says that the proposed Beaverton Center for the Arts will host international, national, and local performances.

It's envisioned as a 43,500 square foot center, which the city says will strengthen Beaverton's economic vitality, support prosperity, and become a well-known resource to the arts and culture community. The BCA is a public-private partnership. Groundbreaking is estimated in early 2018 adjacent to The Round in Beaverton Central. A public parking garage is also planned for the site.
