Beaverton Man Struck And Killed Monday Night In Aloha Crash

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says that James Dougherty of Beaverton was walking when he was struck by a car. He later died at OHSU

BEAVERTON, OR – A 52-year-old man from Beaverton was struck and killed Monday night as he walked in Aloha. The Washington County Sheriff's Office says James Dougherty was pronounced dead at OHSU.

The incident happened just before 9 p.m..

Deputies responded to the intersection of Southwest Tualatin Valley Highway and 178th Avenue. As a passerby called 911, an ambulance from Metro West happened on the scene.

Officials say that Dougherty was in the road when a black Jaguar X traveling east on TV Highway and hit him.

The driver, a 32-year-old man from Beaverton, stayed at the scene and cooperated with deputies.

The crash is still under investigation.
