Beaverton Subdivision Comes Achieves Energy Efficiency Creatively
Report says the Murrayhill Recreation Association came up with a creative solution to an energy problem.

Beaverton's Murrayhill Recreation Association came up with a creative solution to an energy problem that might prove an inspiration to other communities,
According to the Daily Journal of Commerce, the association, a more than 700-home subdivision developed in the late 1980s, was trying to come up with a more efficient way to heat three large swimming pools while also heating and cooling the 6,000-square foot clubhouse.
The paper says they went the creative route: using waste heat from the clubhouse to heat the pools and use pool water to cool the clubhouse.

They quote someone from the association saying The project’s total cost was a little more than $191,000, but the energy savings resulting from integration of the clubhouse HVAC and the system’s greater efficiency will cover that cost in fewer than 10 years.
