Beaverton Traffic Alert: Street Paving Coming Next Week

The City of Beaverton's Public Works Department will be paving several streets from Aug. 22 to 26. The streets are:

* SW Gleneden Dr. (155th Ave. to Gearhart Dr.)

* SW Gleneden Ct. (Gleneden Dr. to cul-de-sac)

* SW Gearhart Dr. (149th Ave. to Sexton Mtn. Dr.)

* SW Gearhart Ct. (Gearhart to cul-de-sac)

* SW151st Pl. (Gearhart to cul-de-sac)

* SW Vulcan Ct. (Gearhart to cul-de-sac)

The exact schedule is weather-dependent. Work will begin at 7 a.m. and finish no later than 5 p.m. each day.

Traffic lanes will be flagged and remain open to local traffic. The city will complete the project as quickly as possible and work to minimize inconvenience, but there will be occasional delays.

Resurfacing streets regularly is considerably less expensive than rebuilding and increases their lifespan. Beaverton inspects its streets frequently to determine which roads are in need of paving.
