Blue Star Donuts Coming To Progress Ridge Townsquare

BEAVERTON, OR — Progress Ridge Townsquare in Southwest Beaverton is getting a little sweeter thanks to the upcoming addition of the Portland-based gourmet donut shop Blue Star.

Established in 2012, Blue Star Donuts + Coffee has been expanding steadily over the past five years, opening several new locations around Portland and two in the Los Angeles area. The Progress Ridge location will mark the company's ninth expansion and its seventh in Oregon.

"There have been so many requests over the past few years from fans in Beaverton and Tigard, it's been a dream of ours that's now finally a reality," Katie Poppe, CEO and Blue Star owner, said in a statement. "We couldn't be more excited. To all the fans responsible for all those emails and not-so-subtle hints over the years, we heard you! We're coming for you! And we're bringing donuts."

According to the company, the Progress Ridge Blue Star will offer "the full selection of brioche, buttermilk, and cake donut favorites, as well as special Portland-exclusive donut flavors." Additionally, the site will also serve fellow Portland-based company Coava Coffee's "Blue Star Blend." Both companies on July 12 received top accolades in Willamette Week's Best of Portland Readers' Poll 2017 for Best Coffee Roasters and Best Donut, respectively, beating out the popular Stumptown Coffee and world renowned Voodoo Donut.

Blue Star will be added to a list of quality establishments already at Progress Ridge Townsquare, which includes Cinetopia, New Seasons Market, and The Growlerie.

While no opening date has been confirmed yet, the company said it will announce its grand opening in conjunction with a free giveaway on its social media sites.
