"There have been so many requests over the past few years from fans in Beaverton and Tigard, it's been a dream of ours that's now finally a reality," Blue Star Owner and CEO Katie Poppe said in a statement. "We couldn't be more excited. To all the fans responsible for all those emails and not-so-subtle hints over the years, we heard you! We're coming for you! And we're bringing donuts."

Blue Star exploded onto the Portland food scene in 2012, bringing to a city where Voodoo Doughnut was king a new selection of brioche, buttermilk, and cake donuts with a uniquely sweet and savory frosting style. Years (and several awards) later, Blue Star has become a true competitor to the internationally known Voodoo franchise, even beating it out for the number one spot on Willamette Week's 2017 "Best of Portland" awards for donuts.
