TVWD Lifts Boil Water Notice Issued Wednesday
The boil water notice affected more than 5,500 residents living south of Farmington Road for less than 24 hours.

BEAVERTON, OR — The boil water notice issued Wednesday for more than 5,000 Tualatin Valley Water District customers living south of Farmington Road was lifted Thursday afternoon.
The advisory was sent out Wednesday evening after a broken valve on a 12-inch water main caused a loss of pressure in the system, TVWD spokesman Frank Reed said. When pressure is lost in a water system in that way, Reed told Patch, it's possible (but highly unlikely, he said later) for outside contaminants to back flow into the system when pressure is restored.
As a precaution, TVWD issued the boil water notice for less than 24 hours.

Since repairs were complete, the affected pipelines have been flushed and samples were collected to ensure no contaminants were present, Reed said.
