Here are the top five stories in Beaverton today:
- Neighbors are criticizing the proposed location of Beaverton's first In-N-Out Burger, 10565 S.W. Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway. Local residents are raising questions about traffic and safety in view of the notably long drive-thru lines at other locations, Gabby Urenda reports. (Beaverton Valley Times)
- Willamette Week featured Beaverton's vocal anti-vaccine pediatrician and the disciplinary action against him from the Oregon Medical Board. Dr. Paul Thomas awaits the Board’s final decision regarding fines of up to $10,000 for each violation and possible revocation of his license, reports Rachel Monahan. (Willamette Week)
- Beaverton Police have received new information regarding a cold case sexual assault that occurred between 1993 and 1995 at 11375 SW Center Street in Beaverton. The PD requests anyone who might have knowledge of the crime to contact Detective Maggie Brown at 503.526.2538. (@BeavertonPolice)
- Mountainside High School girls golf team dominated at an OSAA tournament on May 22, setting a school record. All four teammates put in strong performances, with junior Sofia Fuenmayor taking the win with a three-under 68, Jerry Ulmer reports. (OSAAtoday)
- Though it might feel like life is returning to normal, the Oregon Health Authority reports an average of 31 new cases of COVID-19 daily in Washington County, with 68.9% of residents at least partially vaccinated. The County continues in "Lower Risk" status. (Oregon.gov)
