E. Coli Outbreak At Daycare In Beaverton: Report
Washington County Health & Human Services officials said at least five people have been sickened at an unidentified daycare facility.

BEAVERTON, OR — At least five people have been affected by an E. coli outbreak at a daycare facility in Beaverton, according to Washington County Health & Human Services spokeswoman Wendy Gordon.
Gordon on Wednesday independently confirmed with Patch the cases are being investigated.
Gordon said four people were sickened by E. coli O111 and a fifth is awaiting test results, though she could not say at which daycare center the outbreak occurred.

"Washington County Public Health staff have been working with the day care director and other facility staff to address handwashing and diapering practices, environmental cleaning and other policies and procedures," Gordon told Patch in an email. "We have also been in contact with all families to alert them about the outbreak and symptoms to watch out for."

Gordon did not specify whether the five sickened individuals were children or adults, though she did say none of the cases required hospitalization.
The county's Health & Human Services Department is reportedly partnering with the state Office of Child Care on this investigation.
