Eat Out During Beaverton's Restaurant Week
With more than 25 participating restaurants, the last week in September is looking to be delicious.

BEAVERTON, OR — Foodies unite! Beaverton's first-ever Restaurant Week is mere weeks away and so far more than 25 restaurants have volunteered to participate.
From Sept. 28 to Oct. 8, residents and visitors alike can enjoy unique and otherwise regularly unavailable meals at 28 participating restaurants in downtown Beaverton. From Asian and Italian to American and Middle Eastern, several different types of foodstuffs will be on hand, including a unique dish at each restaurant that normally isn't included on the regular menu.
Participating eaters will also have an opportunity to win even more food (for free) by sharing pictures of their meals on Instagram. By hash-tagging #BeavertonEats to Instagram photos during Restaurant Week, eaters enter their names into a nightly drawing for a $25 gift card to be used at a participating restaurant of their choice.

Participating restaurants can be located using the city's interactive Restaurant Week map:

While the city has offered one-day festivals highlighting Beaverton's diverse food options in the past, this is the first time the city has done so for a whole week, with this particular event taking cues from Portland's well-known Dining Month.

According to city officials, Beaverton's Restaurant Week is another opportunity for residents to try new restaurants, or at least new food, while also supporting the local downtown economy. Additionally, city Marketing Manager Nicole Walters hopes the event also encourages new restauranteurs and foodies across the metro region to consider Beaverton when they think about opening new locations or going out to eat.
"This is our way to put Beaverton on the map… and get people on the Eastside to consider Beaverton when planning for a night out," Walters said, noting the city's annual Night Market and weekly Farmers Markets as similar efforts to highlight all Beaverton has to offer.
The weeklong event is the culmination of efforts between the mayor's office and the Community Development Department to really emphasize the city's cultural diversity.
"I see food as the common denominator that brings us all together," said Randy Ealy, chief administrative officer for the city. "Any opportunity to highlight and shine a spotlight on the multiple cultures living in Beaverton is only beneficial to folks in the area."
