'Education Foundation Employee Raped Teen,' Police Say
Jonathan Tyler, 20, reportedly worked for the Salem-Keizer Education Foundation when he began a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl.

BEAVERTON, OR — Beaverton police last week arrested a 20-year-old Salem man on charges alleging he'd had a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl this past spring. Additionally, the man is charged with attempting to establish a sexual relationship the first victim's 15-year-old friend.
Jonathan Alexander Tyler is being held at Washington County Jail on $25,000 bail. He is currently facing 11 separate charges, which include the online sexual corruption of a minor, rape, luring a minor, sex abuse, and commercial sexual solicitation. Nine of the 11 charges stem from his alleged activities with the 13-year-old victim alone.
According to Beaverton police, Tyler traveled to Beaverton on more than one occasion, beginning in April 2018, to meet the 13-year-old girl for sex. In September, Tyler allegedly shared his sexual desires with the girl's 15-year-old friend.

On Sept. 19, Tyler reportedly traveled to Beaverton to meet with the 15-year-old girl at a specified located but was instead met by Beaverton detectives. He was subsequently arrested and has been in the Washington County Jail ever since.
Tyler, Beaverton police said, worked for the Salem-Keizer Education Foundation and had immediate access to interactions with kids. Because of this, detectives reportedly believe there may be other victims.
