Man Charged With Attacking Beaverton Girl Pleads Not Guilty
Robert Jackson is in Oregon after being arrested last month in Washington. He faces 17 counts related to an attack on a girl in Beaverton.

BEAVERTON, OR – Robert Wade Jackson is a 21-year-old sitting in a cell in the Washington County Jail. He arrived there on Monday after being returned from Washington where he was arrested last month on charges he had attacked a young girl in her home in Beaverton in July.
Jackson's first stop was at the county courthouse where pleaded guilty to 17 counts – all felonies – that he had been indicted on by a grand jury in November.
Officials say that Jackson crawled into the bedroom of a 10-year-old girl who lived at the Stone Creek Apartments on Southwest Murray Boulevard.

They say that he used a Leatherman tool to cut her throat, missing her artery, not causing any life-threatening injuries.

She was able to break away and alert her family.
While Jackson fled, he left the Leatherman behind and officials say that they were able to use DNA recovered from the tool to identify him.
Jackson's indictment charges him with:
- Four counts of attempted aggravated murder;
- First-degree assault;
- Two counts of first-degree sexual abuse;
- Two counts of first-degree attempted rape;
- Two counts of first-degree attempted sodomy;
- Two counts of first-degree attempted sexual abuse;
- Two counts of first-degree burglary;
- Unlawful use of a weapon; and
- Coercion.
Jackson is due back in court on Dec. 24.
