Portland Man Arrested 3 Times This Month
Thomas Ray's most recent arrest in Beaverton on Monday was his 3rd in September alone. His previous 2 arrests occurred in Multnomah County.

BEAVERTON, OR — Thomas Warren Ray on Monday was arrested for the third time this month after he allegedly assaulted a Beaverton police officer. The assault reportedly came after Ray was seen harassing various TriMet employees around the Beaverton Transit Center.
Ray, 52, of Portland, is currently being held on one count of assaulting a public safety officer. His bail is set at $1,000.
Beaverton police officers were first dispatched to the Beaverton Transit Center just after 9:45 p.m. Sept. 24 after receiving a report that Ray was harassing a TriMet train operator. Before officers arrived, however, Ray reportedly left the transit center on a bus.

While riding on the bus, Ray again reportedly caused some kind of unspecified disturbance and was let off barely a block away from the transit center at the intersection of Southwest Lombard Avenue and Southwest Canyon Road.
A Beaverton officer reportedly caught up to Ray across the street from the intersection at the Natural Grocers parking lot. While the first officer was speaking to Ray, a second Beaverton officer arrived and approached the men.

Ray reportedly reacted to the arrival of the second officer by striking the first and assaulting him to the extent he required medical assistance. As other officers arrived, they all worked together to subdue Ray. In the process, a second officer also sustained injuries.
Beaverton police officials could not specify the severity of the officers' injuries on Tuesday.

Ray previously had two other interactions with law enforcement in Multnomah County on Sept. 2 and 12.
On Sept. 2, Ray was arrested and taken to Multnomah County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.

On Sept. 12, he was again reportedly arrested in Multnomah County for interfering with public transportation.

Ray's Sept. 12 charge was ultimately dropped shortly after his release from jail Sept. 13 — the same day he was scheduled to appear for his arraignment on the charges from Sept. 2. But because Ray did not return and appear for that arraignment, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

At this time it's unclear how the combination of charges and varying incidents will play against each other, if at all, but Ray's arraignment on Tuesday was — perhaps unsurprisingly — held within his Washington County jail cell.
