Speed Cams Coming To 4 Beaverton Intersections
The first intersection to receive the upgraded enforcement tech will be online by this weekend. The other 3 upgrades will come through 2019.

BEAVERTON, OR — Beaverton police are adding speed enforcement technology to the red light cameras already being used at four intersections in the city where frequent speeding violations are observed. As a courtesy to commuters, police will issue warnings via their remote enforcement for the first month after installation.
The Beaverton Police Department will begin the one-month warning period this Saturday, Sept. 15. Citations will be mailed after Oct. 15.

To justify the added photo enforcement, police officials said more than 94,000 drivers between July 1, 2015, and July 1, 2016, were captured speeding at least 11 mph over the posted limit at these four specific intersections.
When a driver is flagged as speeding through the intersection, a Beaverton officer will review the recorded data to confirm accuracy before mailing a citation to the driver.
