TriMet's New Double-Decker Bus Rolls Into Action For WES Riders

TriMet riders reached new heights on Wednesday as the transit agency tested its new double-decker bus, using it to ferry WES passengers.

BEAVERTON, OR – It was a new day for some riders of TriMet's WES service on Wednesday as the transit organization reached new heights. They were among the first to the transit organization's new double-decker bus.

The new bus was rolled out to use as a shuttle for WES Commuter Rail passengers affected by signal system safety upgrades.

Its debut carrying passengers started at 7:21 a.m. when it left Wilsonville to take passengers on on the 40 minute, non-stop ride to the Beaverton Transit Center. It's making the return trip Wednesday afternoon.

TriMet has no immediate plans to add the bus to the fleet permanently but are giving it a spin to see if it could fit in with future plans. They are eager to hear from passengers.
