Are you interested in cycling in Portland? Make sure to follow these five Twitter accounts.

PORTLAND, OR — Twitter is a great source for news, but it's also a great place to learn more about your favorite activities and hobbies. We've combed through our Portland Patch Twitter feed to find the biking accounts that we find most helpful and interesting to check out.
1. Bike Portland (@BikePortland)
Bike Portland is a great account to follow for all of the latest biking news from around Portland. They also share great photos from biking events from across Oregon and important meetings, like October's Bicycle Advisory Committee event.

2. Bike Transportation Alliance (@BTAOregon)
The Bike Transportation Alliance (BTA) works to make bike riding safer and more enjoyable in Portland and the surrounding areas. Much of their work involves advocacy, petitioning government officials to create laws that are better for bike riders and also working to promote issues that help Oregon at large. The group has set up a phone bank of volunteers to help promote an affordable housing measure, for example.

3. Heidi Swift (@HeidiSwift)
Heidi Swift, in addition to being an awesome photographer and editor at large for Peloton Magazine, is an avid bike rider. She shares photos and video from her travels around Portland and throughout Oregon. She also ends up recommending a lot of great restaurants and businesses that she encounters in her travels.

4. Community Cycling Center (@CommCyclingCtr)
The Community Cycling Center works toward the mission of making bike maintenance affordable for all. They offer a 20% discount when you show them your Oregon Trail/Washington Quest/equivalent EBT or Medicaid card. In addition to bike repairs, The organization also holds events, sells bikes and shares important information and tips through their Twitter account.

5. ORbike (@ORbike)
ORbike is another group that offers helpful tips to bike riders in Portland and throughout Oregon. Their calendar is packed with biking events and their Twitter account offers a lot of great tips and offers insight on new biking trends, such as disc brakes.
