Announcing The 2021-2022 PPS District Calendar In Portland Public School

Dear PPS Families,

"We are still finalizing some of the remaining details, but wanted you to know that last night, the Board of Education approved the 2021-22 district calendar.

For families who will have a student in grades 1 through 12 next school year, you can circle Wednesday, September 1 as the first day of class. If you have a student who will be in kindergarten, your first official day will be Wednesday, September 8 and there will be “Ramp Up” activities from September 1-7 that your student’s school will communicate to you. The final day of classes for grades kindergarten through 11 will be Friday, June 10, 2022.

As Superintendent Guerrero has said, it is our expectation that we will fully reopen for five days a week of in-person instruction in the fall. Unless health conditions and guidance from public health and Department of Education officials do not permit it, we expect and intend to welcome all students back to school this September.

We know this calendar is arriving later than usual, and we appreciate your patience and understanding. We will continue to update you on the details of a much anticipated 2021-22 school year."
