Portland Traffic: Landslides On West Side Snarl Morning Traffic
"I was worried we were going to be buried but it only came up to the windows," one driver told a reporter.

Two landslides in Northwest Portland caused traffic problems on Wednesday morning. No one was hurt in either incident.
West Burnside by Skyline Boulevard was shut down by a landslide that Portland Fire & Rescue said may have been as much as 15-feet deep. There was originally a concern that one or more cars might have been buried by debris.
"A second, I was worried we were going to be buried but it only came up to the windows," one driver told KGW News.

Portland Fire said that the ground was unstable and "safety is top priority and that engineer from the Bureau of Development Services has been called to assess ground stability.

People are being urged to avoid the area.
Meanwhile, Northwest Cornell Street was closed from east of the Audubon Society to the second tunnel because of the risk of a tree falling into the roadway.
The city's Urban Forestry division was alerted and asked to assess the situation.
The city's Bureau of Transportation asks the public to observe all street closures and directions by reader boards and flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible. Access to the Audubon Society from Skyline Blvd. will be maintained.
