Culinary Institute Murder: Wife Charged With Killing Husband
"I'm struggling to make sense of everything," Nancy Crampton-Brophy said after her husband was found dead. She's charged with killing him

PORTLAND, OR – The news was shocking. On Saturday June 2, students arriving at the Oregon Culinary Institute in Southwest Portland found Daniel Brophy, a long-time teacher at the school, on the floor of one of the kitchen areas.
Brophy, 63, apparently been shot and died soon after. Police were called and quickly labeled it a homicide.

"I have sad news to relate," she wrote, saying that "her husband and best friend" had been killed. "I'm struggling to make sense of everything right now. While I appreciate all of your loving responses, I am overwhelmed."
Nancy Brophy is now under arrest, charged with her husband's murder. She was arrested without incident at the home that they had shared.

Police and the district attorney's office have not yet released any details about possible motive.
She's due in court Thursday afternoon.
