Ducks Quarterback Justin Herbert Says He's Returning For 2019
Just days before the Ducks play in the Redbox Bowl, team leader, QB Justin Herbert says he's returning for his senior year.

PORTLAND, OR – Even though the Oregon Ducks still have to play in the slightly less than glamorous Redbox Bowl on Monday, they pretty much have a solid gaze toward next year. In that regard, they got some solid news on Wednesday.
The team got word that Quarterback Justin Herbert announced that he will be back to 2019.
Herbert had been the subject of a lot of speculation that he would forego his senior year to enter the NFL draft.

"The University of Oregon has been a special place to me for as long as I can remember. Words will never be able to express my feelings of gratitude toward the people that have built and maintain our program," Herbert said in a statement released just before the team left for Santa Clara, CA for the bowl.

"What I have come to realize, though, is that nothing could pull me away from the opportunities that we have in front of us."
Herbert wanted the announcement made before the game so that the team would be focused.
"As we prepare for our bowl game, I would like to ensure that there are no distractions outside of this game," Herbert said. "My commitment to my teammates, our coaches, Duck fans, and the University of Oregon has never been stronger.
"I'll be returning to the University of Oregon for my senior year."
Herbert has a touchdown pass in 27 straight games, the longest streak in the nation. He threw for 2,985 yards this season and threw 28 touchdown, which placed him in 10th place nationally.
"We couldn't be more excited for Justin to return for his senior season. He is a special talent on the field, but, more importantly, a special person and leader off the field," Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal said.
