- The trend of incentivizing individuals to get the COVID-19 vaccine continues. This time, the Oregon Health Authority and All4Oregon are teaming up to give away 1,500 $100 gift cards to Fred Meyer and Safeway. They will be given out in a first come, first serve basis and are only available for those receiving their first does of the vaccine. They will be available at the Oregon Convention Center site and Hillsboro Stadium. (KOIN)
- Eco-roofs, the living, breathing vegetated roof systems, are becoming all the rage in Portland, which is good, because the city has made them a part of the Central City 2035 plan. New zoning rules mandate eco-roofs on buildings of 20,000 square feet or more in commercial zones within the Central City. (DJC Oregon)
- Rep. Mike Nearman has been expelled from the Oregon House for his role in the Oregon Capitol breach that happened in December. He is the first member of the state House to be expelled in 160 years. The House passed House Resolution 3, which calls for Nearman’s expulsion, by a vote of 59-1. (KGW)
- Addiction recovery advocates rallied outside the capitol building in Salem this week. The rally was in support of a highly contested tax on Oregon’s alcohol industry. House Bill 3377 would add $70 to the current tax on a barrel of beer and $10 for every gallon of wine made at the start of 2022. (KATU)
- Four juveniles have been arrested in connection with a crime spree in SE Portland last month. They terrorized several businesses, stealing items and damaging property. Two more individuals are being sought in connection with this group. (KPTV)

- Festa Italiana, a celebration of Italian food and culture, is in NE Portland at Wellspent Market. There will be everything from gelato to paninis and even vegetable starts from the Culinary Breeding Network. The event is free, but registration is required. Noon – 6:00 PM.
- It’s Record Store Day! And record stores across Portland are celebrating by opening their doors to all the vinyl-heads out there, offering special Record Store Day releases from artists such as Ella Fitzgerald and Iggy Pop. Check out the list of participating record stores.
- The Multnomah County Library and Multnomah County’s Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) are teaming up to present a Juneteenth celebration at Multnomah County Library. This online event will feature the history of Juneteenth, as well as cooking and gardening demonstrations. The event is free but they do ask that you register. 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Breaking the Silence, an online LGBTQ+ and Veteran’s PRIDE event, will stream over Zoom. Brought to you by the Washington County Older Adult Health Initiative, it will feature talks from Veteran Service Operators, as well as Virtual Drag Queen BINGO with Poison Waters and Friends. 12:30 – 3:30 PM.
- Shuffle those cards and get your boards out, because it’s Saturday Cribbage at the Lucky Lab in NW Portland. All skill levels are welcome and boards/cards will be provided for those that don’t have them. There might even be a little pinochle. 4:00 – 6:00 PM

- Do you like strawberries? Of course you do. That’s why you should check out the Portland Strawberry Museum and its celebration of strawberries every Saturday in June. Lots of strawberry creations will be on hand, as well craft vendors offering art, jewelry and more. Noon –4:00 PM.
- National Bourbon Day is June 14th and Angel’s Envy is celebrating with its second annual Doggo Fashion Show. They’re teaming up with Hop Capitol Brewing to offer beer and cocktail specials. But let’s not forget the real stars of the show. Dogs in costume! Squee! 5:00 – 8:00 PM
- If you think pot can give you the giggles, just wait until you get a load of the Smokus Pocus comedy and magic show. Social distancing will be enforced, so seating is limited and tickets must be purchased online in advance. Audience members must be 18 and over and there will be no smoking permitted at the venue. Multiple shows run through to August 14th. (Smokus Pocus)
