Family Of Man Found Dead In Trunk Of Burning Car Offers Reward

Andrew Hathaway was found dead in the trunk of a burning car on North Marine Drive last November. HIs family is now offering a reward.

PORTLAND, OR – The man in the picture is 28-year-old Andrew Hathaway. On the morning of Sept, 5, 2018, he was found dead in the trunk of a burning Chevy Impala on North Marine Drive.

His family believes that someone has to know something about who killed him.

That's why they are offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of his killer. That's on top of a $2,500 reward already offered by Crime Stoppers of Oregon.

Portland Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the 6200 block of North Marine Drive just after 1 a.m. to a report of a burning car.

As firefighters worked to extinguish the fire they noticed what appeared to be a body in the trunk.

The medical examiner later determined that Hathaway, who had been living in Milwaukie, had died of "homicidal violence."

Portland Police says that anyone with information who hopes to collect the reward offered by Hathaway's family must first contact Detective Vince Cui at 503-823-0449 or vince.cui@portlandoregon.gov.
