Fundraiser Launched For Oregon Mom Diagnosed With Cancer
Kendall Joy was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma for the second time in her life.

MEDFORD, OR — A fundraising campaign is underway Monday for a Medford mom diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma for the second time. Kendall Joy was told the cancer returned in late March, according to a GoFundMe page created by her father, Ken Bachiero.
Bachiero wrote that Joy defeated the cancer of the immune system more than four years ago. On March 20, she was told it had returned.
"A lot has changed since Kendall's first battle with cancer," Bachiero wrote on the GoFundMe page. "She got married, became a mother to my beautiful granddaughter, Sofia, and has continued her career."

Bachiero wrote, "Kendall first noticed a lump under her arm about a month ago and immediately contacted her oncologist. He ordered a PET scan to check for any tumors she might have and also ordered a needle extraction biopsy. After the results of both tests were in, it was confirmed that the Hodgkin's Lymphoma was back."
Joy, who is documenting her journey on Facebook, is currently undergoing chemotherapy, which will last for nine weeks.

Bachiero said any donations will go toward medical costs to help Joy.
"The funds we raise for her will be used to cover all of the outrageously expensive medical costs before, during and after her treatment that we already know her insurance won't cover."
As of Monday, the GoFundMe campaign raised more than $26,000 of its $50,000 goal.
