Hawthorne Bridge Lane Closure Thursday, Friday This Week
One lane of travel will be closed in both directions between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Oct. 25 and 26.
PORTLAND, OR — Multnomah County Transportation crews will need to close one lane in each direction along Hawthorne Bridge this week to conduct an inspection and perform repairs to the bridge deck, county transportation spokesman Mike Pullen said.
The closure will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both Thursday and Friday, Oct. 25 and 26. The sidewalks on both sides of the bridge, as well as one lane of travel in each direction, will remain open at all times.
"This week crews will use two snooper cranes to inspect and weld areas of the steel deck on the north side of the bridge that are damaged from wear," Pullen said in a statement. "In coming weeks, the deck in the center and south lanes will be repaired, during off-peak travel hours."
