How Bad Are Portland-Area Drivers? New Report Says Really Bad
Alllstate insurance just released the 2018 version of "America's Best Drivers," looking at 200 cities. Portland came in at 190.

PORTLAND, OR – How good are the driver's in the Portland area? Not all that good is the conclusion of a new report from Allstate, the insurance company.
They released their annual "America's Best Driver's Report" on Wednesday and it was not good for Portland the surrounding area.
Allstate looked at 200 cities and developed rankings based on factors such as time between accident claims for drivers and how often drivers experience a "hard braking event," which is a sudden stop of 8 mph or more per second.

Out of the 200 cities, Portland came in 190th.

There were several areas where drivers in the region were dinged.
While the national average for time between accident claims is 10 years, for people in the Portland area, they only make it an average of 5.9 years.
Drivers in the area have actually gotten worse according to the report, which says that in 2017, the city was only the 187th worse.
As for those who want to hide behind the rain as an excuse, Allstate took that into consideration.
Portland is 190th when it's sunny and 190th when there's precipitation.
The worst city in the country? Baltimore, MD, while the best is Brownsville, TX.
