Kids Obstacle Challenge Heading To Portland
There's still time to register for the July 21 event, which puts kids 5 through 16 in a friendly, challenging 1.5 to 2-mile obstacle course.
PORTLAND, OR — The largest touring adventure and obstacle course in the U.S. will come home to Portland this month, giving Oregon residents a chance to compete and push themselves to fullest extent of their physical abilities — for fun, of course.
Since it began touring in April, the Kids Obstacle Challenge has visited 10 cities on the East Coast and in the Southern United States. It started the West Coast leg of its tour in Denver on July 7 and 8, and its next stop is in Portland, July 21.
Pitting kids aged 5 through 16 years against each other in a friendly, competitive environment, the Kids Obstacle Challenge asks participants to run, jump, slide, and crawl through a 1.5 to 2-mile track dotted with around 15 challenging-but-fun obstacles, which includes cargo nets, mud pits, and rope swings.

More than 100,000 participants will take on the challenge in 2018, and parents are invited to join their children free of charge.

"Kids Obstacle Challenge is designed for kids and their parents to push their limits and reach new heights together," KOC officials said in a statement. "If you are looking for the ultimate experience that involves the whole family, look no further."
Dedicated "to inspire and challenge kids, and forge family bonds through adventure and obstacles," the Kids Obstacle Challenge even allows for multiple non-competitive run-throughs for a nominal fee.
The competitive waves are specifically for kids 10 through 16 years who will compete for prizes like an electric skateboard or scooter. Parents cannot participate in the competitive waves.
