Helping the band try to raise the roof at Moda will be their lead guitarist – Beaverton's own Tommy Thayer.
Thayer and his brothers, John and Mike, went to Sunset High School and have been raising mney to refurbish the school's auditorium.
"Sunset was where I got my start in music with great instructors and first-class facilities," Thayer said in March. "Over the years, the auditorium has seen its share of wear and tear and no needs refurbishment.
"Let's all get together and give it the attention it deserves."
Last April, the brothers and friends played a benefit concert to raise money for the project.
So far they've raised more than $50,000 out of the $175,000 that they need.
When it's done, the auditorium will have a new sound system, sound booth, and its dressing room remodeled..
