Lloyd Center 'Flash Rob' Concerns Prompt Extra Security, Concerns

A social media threat saying that the center will be hit by a 'flash rob' mob has some stores closing early while security is on alert.

PORTLAND, OR – Concerns are higher at Lloyd Center on Friday after a social media threat promised an organized robbery event there. A letter from the center's general manager to stores at the center said the event would supposedly happen at 8 p.m. on Friday.

Lloyd Center says that they have no way of knowing if the threat is real but want to err on the side of safety.

As a result, while the center will remain open, some stores may close early and give employees a chance to go home. Get all the latest information on what's happening in your community by signing up for Patch's newsletters and breaking news alerts.
