Nike Releases Its First Hijab Sportswear In The US

Nike announced the hijab product in a tweet Wednesday and included a photo of Olympic fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad.

BEAVERTON, OR — Nike on Wednesday introduced in the United States its first ever “Nike Pro Hijab” designed for athletes who wear headscarves while they compete and practice sports.

“The Nike Pro Hijab is made with lightweight, breathable fabric that wicks away sweat, and stays tucked in during any workout or competition,” Nike says in the description of the hijab on its website. “The pull-on design and long back keeps the Hijab in place, while mesh fabric provides a breathable, personalized fit.”

The black head covering is complete a white Nike “swoosh” on the left side, photos of it show.
