PORTLAND, OR — OMSI's annual sci-fi film festival begins this week, and this year's movie lineup includes a stellar list of recent blockbuster hits and the classics that inspired them. Passes for the whole festival and individual movie tickets are available now.
From Aug. 8 to 26 more than 20 of the highest rated sci-fi films will be shown at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry's (OMSI) Empirical Theater, which boasts a four-story screen. Adult tickets are $7 per show or $30 for the entire festival, which has 42 individual screenings scheduled.
Movies this year include new releases such as "Ready Player One," "Avengers: Infinity War," and "Solo: A Star Wars Story," as well as classics like "Dune," "They Live," and "Back to the Future" — the specific screening for which will also be part of a special Reel Science event Aug. 8, featuring guest speaker and astrophysicist Ethan Siegel.

Attendees to the Robot Theater presentation will also receive free passes to OMSI's current feature exhibit Robot Revolution.
Open from March 17 through Sept. 3, Robot Revolution takes a look at how robots are reshaping our present and how they'll affect our future.
