Oregon State Fair Brings 'Flash Fair' to Pioneer Square July 12
A miniature version of the Oregon State Fair is coming to downtown Portland for 3 hours this week.

For three short hours, Pioneer Square is going to the animals. And the buskers. And the fair food. There will even be a pie eating contest.
On Thursday, July 12, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Portland’s Living Room will come alive with a sneak-peek of the 153rd annual Oregon State Fair.
The “Flash Fair” is open to the public and will offer the state fair experience in a miniature package. Elements from various aspects of the Oregon State Fair will be on site: animals, the midway carnival, fair food, culinary and beverage, quilters, and fair entertainment with a lineup of acts including a mini marching band.

“It’s not too often people get to experience the fun of a state fair right in the middle of a city,” said Dan Cox, Oregon State Fair spokesperson. “Pioneer Square is the quintessential summer spot to enjoy a break from the day in downtown Portland and so on July 12, everyone from downtown workers to kids off for summer break can enjoy a taste of the Oregon State Fair.”
