PBOT plans to salt three times as many miles this winter to fight freezing conditions.

The agencies – along with Portland Police, Portland Fire & Rescue, and TriMet – held a news conference on Wednesday to discuss how prepared they are for the coming winter driving season.

The big news from PBOT is that they will be using twice as many machines to spread salt in three times as many miles of road this year compared to last.
