Oregon Zoo Hedgehog Says Early Spring, Forecast Says Not So Fast
On Saturday, the Oregon Zoo's African pygmy hedgehog, Nancy, called for an early spring. Forecasters say it could happen but not yet.

PORTLAND, OR – Nancy the hedgehog is definitely optimistic. She went outside at the Oregon Zoo on Saturday and saw her shadow, predicting an early spring. The zoo says their hedgehogs have an accuracy rate close to 50 percent (as opposed to Punxsutawney Phil who has a 39 percent accuracy rate).
While Nancy may be correct, forecasters from the National Weather Service's Portland office say it may happen – but not yet.
There is a possibility of snow Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday night, and Thursday.

Don't be too excited about the fact that Portland hasn't had any snow yet. The lack of snow and smaller amount of rain than usual has meant a smaller snowpack and potential ramifications for the summer.
As for this week's forecast, here are the details:
MONDAY – Snow showers before 4 p.m. with little or no accumulation expected. High around 39.
TUESDAY – Snow before 10 a.m. followed by sun. High around 40.
WEDNESDAY – Probably the nice day of the week; sunny with a high around 42.
THURSDAY – The snow showers likely to return. High around 43.
