Oregon's Best Dog-Friendly Public Lands
With National Dog Day on Saturday, the U.S. Department of the Interior offered a list of the most dog-friendly places to take Spot for trip.

PORTLAND, OR — With National Dog Day this Saturday, Patch looked into where puppy's parents should go to spend a special day with Sparky. Turns out two popular outdoor recreation destinations in Oregon made the list of Best Dog-Friendly Public Lands, published by the U.S. Department of the Interior on Thursday.
According to the USDI, the Mount Hood National Forest 20 miles east of Portland and the Crooked Wild and Scenic River in Central Oregon are the best places in the state to take your dog out to play.
While all public lands and most national parks allow for dogs, Mount Hood and Crooked River are special for Oregonians as they offer both acres of hiking trails and a place for doggo to take a dip and cool off.
