PDX Security: Man Flees Security After Being Caught With Fake ID
The TSA's new Credential Authentication Technology is being used at Portland International Airport and caught a fake ID on Saturday.

PORTLAND, OR – A new technology being tested by the TSA at Portland International Airport detected a fake driver's license at a security checkpoint on Saturday. The man was able to flee the airport before being arrested.
The TSA says that the man's fake license was detected by their new Credential Authentication Technology or CAT.

After that, TSA searched what the man's bags and found several other pieces of fake identification as well as credit cards and a machine used to manufacture fake IDs.
The man is still at large. Neither the TSA or Airport Police have released information about the man who fled.

The TSA, which plans to expand the use of the technology to other airports next year.
This is the first time that the TSA has reported CAT detecting a fake piece of identification.
