PDX Traffic Alert: Kavanaugh Protesters Block Traffic Downtown
With the conformation of Brett Kavanaugh moving toward a vote, protesters in Portland took to the street to voice their opposition.

PORTLAND, OR – The political debate may be centered in Washington, D.C. but the traffic issues could be felt right here in Portland. As senators began heading to a secure room to examine FBI documents concerning Brett Kavanaugh, protesters in Portland headed downtown.
Around 9 a.m. on Thursday, people upset with the prospect of Kavanaugh being elevated to the Supreme Court gathered outside the federal courthouse downtown.

While they eventually got up and allowed traffic again to pass, more protests over the course of the day are a possibility.
Both of Oregon's senators – Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley – have already said that they plan to vote against Kavanaugh.
